An introduction to Shakespeare
As part of their English topic 'An Introduction to Shakespeare', students have had the opportunity to discover what a visit to the Globe theatre would have been like.
Last week two visitors from the past, Goodwife Elizabeth, a gentry lady, and Nan Fisher, a bakery worker, answered students' questions about their visits to Shakespeare's Globe. Do you recognise them?!
They learnt about how different social classes experienced the plays and more widely what a visit to the theatre in the late 16th/early 17th century would have been like.
Students will be using what they found out to write a diary entry about their own imagined visit to the Globe, in their next lesson.
Please see attached a few more photos from this lesson.
