The High School Leckhampton The High School Leckhampton

Parent Forum

The first Parent Forum of the school year was held on Tuesday evening, with seven parents of pupils in years 8 to 10 attending.  The school's agenda item was homework. We also discussed two topics proposed by parents - the library, and cycle routes to school.

The discussions were useful, and it was helpful to have parental perspectives on how some of our pupils manage schoolwork outside of the classroom.

The opportunity for parents to propose a topic was new for this year's Parent Forums.  Some topics suggested allowed the school to respond immediately, and address the issues identified.  Others could be addressed during the meeting - for example it was a pleasure to be able to share the progress that has been made in expanding collections in the Learning Resource Centre, and plans for further purchases.

Our final topic concerned safe cycle routes to school.  It was an important discussion, and hearing parental perspectives will enable us to consider how we as a school can support parents who may wish to take this matter further through contact with their local councillor.

Mrs Cox would like to thank the parents for their participation in this term's Parent Forum.
